SENIOR RUGBY
It was a big ask for our 1XV to visit top of the table, Old Ruts, and come away with anything, but the boys travelled full of belief as always. How did they get on? Read about it here: Match report

After yet another team pulling out of their fixture with our 2’s (We could win this league without playing a game at this rate!!), we decided to have a big inter club, touch rugby extravaganza in the sunshine! Thank you to all who came from all parts of the club. A fine club family afternoon!!
On Sunday, our Ladies hosted a strong Worthing outfit. The fine weather led to a brilliant and hard game of rugby with no quarter given from either side. Who came out on top? Read about it here: Match report

Next weekend, is a rest weekend for all our senior teams, so we can all get up to the club and enjoy ‘Super Saturday’ as the 6 Nations come to a climax!! Come on Scotland!!!!
JUNIOR RUGBY
By all accounts, it was a wonderful day at the club on Sunday. A warm spring day greeted everyone who attended the training. This week's report may be light on content and It may have been a bit light on the coaching front on Sunday with both the U10s and 11s missing coaches who were enjoying the snow in the French Alps but still doing their bit to represent EGRFC and the camaraderie and friendships that have spawned from our wonderful club.
The U9s were treated to another double-dose of rugby action across the weekend with Friday Night Lights at Burgess Hill RFC and home training on Sunday.
Friday saw 24 of our players head to Burgess Hill for their club’s first ever Friday Night Lights event.
The players were announced on the big screen Premiership-style before running out to a light show, pyrotechnics and the sound of “Light Up The Sky” by The Prodigy. Excitement levels were off the charts for players and supporters alike.
Our three teams took on opposition from Crawley, Burgess Hill and Hove in three fast paced games under the lights and treated the highly vocal fans to some fantastic attacking rugby.
Back at HQ on Sunday morning, the sun came out (for once) and produced perfect conditions for a morning of high intensity drills, focussing on carrying into contact and ball presentation.
INTERMEDIATE RUGBY
Hove U13’s 10 - G’s 50
East Grinstead U13 Blue team played their last league fixture of the season away to Hove in glorious Spring sunshine. The match started perfectly with Bertie returning the Hove kick-off straight back for a try. Jack then doubled the lead before Hove slowly came back into the game, scoring two tries of their own. Fortunately, EG refused to be rattled by this and by half time they had scored three more tries- two more from Jack and one from Billy.
The second half carried on in similar fashion. The match itself was tight, but EG defended superbly with some monster tackles being put in across the team. At the other end the score board was kept busy with five more tries from Jack (2), Billy, Bert & Arthur. Final score Hove 10, East Grinstead 50.
This was a super result which every member of the team can be proud of. Special mentions to Jack with his 5 try haul, Bertie for his offence & defence, and man-of-the-match Mason, who was an absolute tackling machine. Having been promoted in the New Year, the Blues lost just one game which they should be hugely pleased about.
G’s U14’s 34- Horsham A 19
The U14’s took to the field at home on Sunday to play Horsham’s A team. East Grinstead came out the blocks hard, scoring 2 trys in the first 10 minutes only to be pulled level at half time.
After a shaky first few minutes in the second half, East Grinstead started to pull away using their back line and strong forward play. The final score was 34-19 to the Gs with tries coming from Charlie Tate x2, Leighton Langridge x2, Oliver Beal and Archie Seal with his first of the season.
Not to be outdone, our Colts got back to winning ways with an impressive four try haul in a 14 - 25 win away at Lewes.

VICE PRESIDENT DONATIONS
A quick reminder for our VP’s. For some time now we have been trying to get VP donations onto the RFU GMS system to allow us to capture all VP information and ensure that VP’s are kept well informed of club events.

If you are a VP please complete this membership and then either send in a cheque with your donation or call Julie at the club on 01342 322338 and we can take a donation over the phone using your debit card.
