Last Friday, 13 March 2020, East Grinstead RFC hosted a Pre-Tour Festival for Chobham RFC for their U9 – U11’s squads as they stopped over on their way to their tour destination at Camber Sands.

A total of 150 girls and boys and 144 adults from Chobham descended on our club at around 4.15pm and played a number of games against East Grinstead competition before joining us for food and plenty of refreshment, eventually departing just after 8pm.

The rugby gods were smiling on us providing some much-needed sunshine and available pitch space. All participants, both home and away, had a fun and enjoyable time and Chobham created a fantastic atmosphere. I would like to thank Chobham RFC for reaching out to us to host them and to all our coaches and volunteers who gave up their time to make this happen, the parents and guardians who brought their kids along and to the catering and bar staff who were kept very busy!

We hope Chobham had a successful tour and look forward to meeting up again in the future.
