Last month (July 2019) East Grinstead RFC hosted a Virago Star weekend bike rally – an event that had been so well planned by the C14’s Rally Team for the best part of 12 months.
Despite the British summer rain…the bikes kept arriving, the tents were put up and the fun began. The bikers headed off to different local attractions during the weekend, tucked into plenty of food, listened to live music, caught up with good friends and a dress up ‘Gangster and Molls’ evening made it a great weekend for all.

Bill Rudgard, VSOC, C14’s Rally Team said “The team at EGRFC certainly had the foresight to provide the facilities to this event. The request for simple things like constant hot water, proper plates and cutlery, all not an issue. I think we have all experienced too many cold showers and trying to balance your dinner on a paper plate with a snapped plastic knife and fork is no easy task. A couple of hundred Bikers wasn’t a problem. Plus, with a 5 Start rating for food hygiene it was all good. Thanks to Nikki Ward and her Team. Without them the weekend would not have been as much of a success. With all of the positive comments we had on the food. I hear the Chicken Chasseur and the Beef Bourguignon went down well along with the enormous breakfasts as a good start to the day.”

Congratulations to the C14 Team for their amazing organisation and complete respect for our club. If there are any rugby clubs considering hosting next time - without a doubt we would say yes!
