Nominate Matt Ratana for making a positive impact on our local community.

The BBC are searching for volunteers whose efforts have meant sports clubs have made a positive impact in local communities during an unprecedented year. The name of this award is "Unsung Hero".

So, just take a few minutes to nominate the volunteer who made a real difference!

Enter your nomination here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/send/u55773449

On the form, please select the "Written" option and specify why you want to nominate Matt. EGRFC will be producing a video and submitting that as a separate entry.

The next question is Name of Your "Unsung Hero" = Matt Ratana
Then you are asked to enter their contact details. Please add Matts contact details as:
Postcode - RH19 4JU
Contact Number - 01342 322338
Email address - operations@egrfc.com

Many of Matts qualities make him perfect for nomination because the individual must have offered their help that does not normally form part of their job and that they help voluntarily with no financial reward. Very few will be aware that Matt was unpaid for all his efforts - he even paid his own membership fees.

You may be interested to learn that nominees will go to a voting panel and the selection criteria will include the following:

  • The impact they have had on individuals and/or their local community;
  • The impact they have had on communities at a regional/national level beyond their local community
  • The extent of the nominee's contribution at the grassroots level of their sport or physical activity; and
  • The personal sacrifices or commitment made.
  • The extent of the nominee's contribution to people not engaged in their sport or physical activity
