It is with great pleasure that we announce that the Sunshine Sevens has been selected to become a Local Qualifying Event for a new RFU Sevens Series. You may be aware that there will be a series of local qualifying events around the country where the winners of the appropriate competition will have the opportunity to progress to Regionals, to be held at Allianz Park on Sunday 17th July. Two finalists from the Regional event will be invited to compete at the National finals on the 31st July 2016.

Many thanks for supporting the tournament – its hard to believe but all our efforts this year helped us to raised £10,000 to support local Children’s charities. We again have supported our local School for Autism – Step by Step and our support will help fund projects for the kids. The rest went again to our local branch of The Opportunity Playgroup – this contribution runs the group for about a third of the year. We also continued our association and support of Wooden Spoon.

This year we will be running TWO tournaments.
Sunday 24th April –
Senior Men’s Elite Tournament – for the Lady Astor of Hever Trophy.
Qualifier for the RFU National 7’s Series!!
16 teams – Following IRB schedule.
Qualifier for the RFU National Community Sevens .
Main Tournament – Super-Bowl - Plate Tournament – Bowl
Guaranteed minimum of 3 games..........
Also Men’s Social Tournament
16 Teams playing – Playing seriously – but having fun……
The cost of entry for Senior Men’s tournament is £75 – Full payment pre-tournament.
